Hikvision DS-K2604T Series Access Controller
When access control needs to work every time—even during network interruptions—the DS-K2600T Series is built for that reality. This controller is designed for facilities that can’t afford gaps in security, missed events, or complex system management. With high card capacity, offline operation, and support for multiple reader types, it gives you long-term control without constant oversight. It’s the kind of system you install once and trust to quietly do its job.
Why Buyers Choose This Model
Buyers choose the DS-K2600T Series because it balances enterprise-level capability with real-world reliability. It scales from single-door to four-door installations, integrates with existing readers, and keeps working even when the network goes down. For IT teams and security managers, that means fewer emergency calls, fewer manual workarounds, and more peace of mind.
Key Features & Buyer Benefits
- Offline operation with local record storage — keeps doors operational and logs events during network outages, so access control doesn’t stop when connectivity does.
- High user and event capacity (100,000 cards / 300,000 events) — supports large organizations without constant database cleanup or upgrades.
- Multiple reader protocol support (RS-485, OSDP, Wiegand W26/W34) — lets you reuse existing readers and reduce upgrade costs.
- Advanced access logic (anti-passback, interlock, multi-authentication) — helps prevent tailgating, credential sharing, and unauthorized movement.
- Encrypted TCP/IP communication — reduces the risk of data interception and privacy concerns across the network.
- Permanent data retention after power loss — ensures card data and event logs are not lost during outages or restarts.
- Wide alarm coverage (forced door, tamper, duress, timeout) — alerts you to problems early, before they become security incidents.
- Available in 1-door, 2-door, and 4-door models — allows you to size the system correctly instead of paying for unused capacity.
What This Helps You Avoid
Many access systems fail when networks drop, power fluctuates, or databases hit capacity limits. That leads to locked doors, missing logs, and manual overrides—exactly when security matters most.
The DS-K2600T Series is designed to eliminate those failure points by storing data locally, supporting offline operation, and retaining records even after power loss. Instead of reacting to problems, you gain a system that continues running quietly in the background, reducing stress for both security staff and IT teams.

Frequently Asked Questions
The DS-K2600T Series is available in three models designed for different door counts. The DS-K2601T supports one door, the DS-K2602T supports two doors, and the DS-K2604T supports four doors. This allows installers to select the correct controller size without overpaying for unused capacity. Each model is purpose-built to manage its supported doors directly without external expansion modules.
The controller supports RS-485, OSDP, and Wiegand communication protocols. The Wiegand interface supports W26 and W34 formats and is compatible with third-party Wiegand card readers. This flexibility makes it suitable for new installations as well as upgrades that reuse existing readers. Different reader types such as keypad readers and fingerprint readers are shown in the typical application diagram.
The DS-K2600T Series supports offline operation and offline record storage. When the device is disconnected from the network, it continues to control doors normally and stores access records locally. Once communication is restored, stored records can be retrieved by the system. This ensures uninterrupted access control even during network outages.
The controller supports up to 100,000 cards in total, including 97,000 non-visitor cards and 3,000 visitor cards. It can store up to 300,000 events and card-presenting records. This high capacity makes it suitable for large organizations with many users. Storage is retained even if the device is powered off.
Yes, the DS-K2600T Series supports anti-passback, including cross-controller anti-passback. For cross-controller anti-passback based on cards, RS-485 wiring is required between readers. For network-based cross-controller anti-passback, proper communication between the server and devices is required. These features help prevent unauthorized re-entry and credential sharing.
The controller supports a wide range of alarms including tamper alarm, door not secured, forced door open, and door timeout. It also supports duress alarms, blocklist alarms, and illegal card swiping attempts. Short circuit and open circuit attempt alarms are also supported. These alarms help administrators respond quickly to security incidents.
The controller operates on a power supply range of 100 to 240 VAC. Power consumption without load is less than or equal to 4 W. With load, consumption varies by model, reaching up to 50 W for the DS-K2601T and up to 100 W for the DS-K2602T and DS-K2604T. This allows it to integrate easily into standard electrical environments.
The DS-K2600T Series is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20 °C to +65 °C (-4 °F to +149 °F). It supports working humidity levels from 10% to 90% non-condensing. These specifications make it suitable for a wide range of indoor technical and industrial environments. The tamper-proof and watchdog designs further enhance reliability.
Yes, the datasheet specifies that data can be permanently saved even after the controller is powered off. This ensures that card data, configurations, and event records are not lost during power interruptions. The design also includes a backup battery function to improve reliability. This helps maintain system integrity in unstable power conditions.
